Mobile Grooming

OUR MOBILE PET GROOMING vans provide all services available in a traditional grooming shop. However, mobile grooming eliminates some common stressors such as spending all day at the groomers and the dreaded car ride. It also eliminates some potential dangers of shop grooming as well, such as being exposed to other animals or the heavily debated cage drying. And yes we do groom cats! The mobile units allow us to provide a less stressful, sedation free environment for your cat’s grooming needs.

What do we offer?

For your pet’s (and our groomers’) comfort, our vans are climate controlled, with hot and cold running water. We use only high quality Espree and Davis’s pet care products, in a variety of types to meet your pet’s individual coat and skin needs. If needed, we also offer flea and tick products. Our groomers are experienced in all breeds of dog and cat pet grooming and strive to provide the high quality service you and your pet deserve.

WE REGULARLY SERVICE Phoenix (out to 4800E), Laveen, Glendale, Peoria (out to 30000N), El Mirage, Sun City, Sun City West, Surprise (out to 19500W), Litchfield Park, Avondale, Tolleson, Goodyear (out to 9000S). All appointments in all areas are subject to availability and we are regularly booked around a month out. If you need a specific time or day, especially if it is for a special occasion, it is best to call a couple months in advance so that we can accommodate. This is especially recommended for the “spring rush” (when the weather warms up) and major holidays.

Mobile Grooming FAQ

Our vans are completely self-contained. They have a generator for power and a 50 gallon tank for clean water. On a rare occasion we may run out of water in which case we would need to use your hose or return to the shop to fill our water tank before returning.

It’s usually best to park along the curb, or on flat driveways. The vans are too tall to fit under most covered parking spaces and the slope is important to be able to drain the tub properly.

No, in addition to the 50 gallon tank of clean water we have a 50 gallon tank to hold the used water. The used water is never reused.

Yes, each of the vans has a water heater, as well as a heater for the winter and air conditioning for the other 9 months.

Please let them go potty before the groomer arrives. Also, don’t feed them within an hour or so. If they take medicine for arthritis pain, you may want to give them some before the grooming. Please have a carrier for cats and a collar and leash ready for dogs. Some pets are not fond of the grooming process and will attempt to get out of it by making themselves unavailable. If this is something your pet is prone to please ask for a call when the groomer is on their way so you can make sure your pet is available when we arrive. IF YOUR PET IS NOT AVAILABLE WHEN WE ARRIVE YOU WILL HAVE TO RESCHEDULE.

We will need to know your pet’s age, sex, weight, breed, and vaccination records as well as any health issues or behavior concerns. Please let us know if you give your pet tranquilizers or pain medicine before the grooming. Also, let us know of any of your concerns, whether related to the health of your pet or if they’ve had bad grooming experiences in the past, anything that may help us understand your pet better.

No, if your animal requires sedation, you will have to consult your vet for the medication.

If your veterinarian has recommended that you give them a tranquilizer, allow time for the medicine to take effect. Ask your veterinarian the time frame of when the tranquilizer will start to work and how long it will last. There are several different types and some take as long as two hours to take effect.

The grooming process can vary slightly but typically goes as follows:

  1. Pre-groom: includes trimming nails, cleaning ears, and rough cut (if applicable).
  2. Bath: includes expressing the anal glands (if necessary), wash, rinse, and dry.
  3. Finish-groom: Finish cut (if applicable), perfume, and bow.

For most pets, it takes about an hour. Large dogs, very hairy or matted pets will take longer as well as those who take special care due to health problems or behavior.

  1. Pre-groom: includes trimming nails, cleaning ears, and rough cut (if applicable).
  2. Bath: includes expressing the anal glands (if necessary), wash, rinse, and dry.
  3. Finish-groom: Finish cut (if applicable), perfume, and bow.

Usually every 4-6 weeks is recommended. Remember that grooming is not just about looking good, but also about their health and comfort. Animals that have hair that tangles and matts need to be brushed regularly to prevent hot spots. Shedding dogs can be uncomfortably hot without the loose coat taken out, also stickers and fox tails can make their way into the coat and skin with out being noticed. If you have an outdoor dog, please have them groomed seasonally (four times a year), at a minimum. You can schedule your appointments for the year from every two weeks to every eight weeks, or you can call when you think your pet needs groomed. Keep in mind however that there is often at least a month wait for appointments. Much of it depends on your personal preference.
